Seton Catholic provides a top-notch education to our students. The faculty, staff, and students have leading-edge technology at their disposal to make learning easier, fun, and effective. Ed Little, Principal, deploys secure wireless Internet, classroom document cameras, interactive whiteboards, and laptop computers to equip the faculty and students with the instruments of success.
The students access the Internet with their Apple MacBook Laptop. The laptops are loaded with e-textbooks for core courses to provide portable, easy access to their textbooks and assignments.
Each classroom is equipped with document cameras and interactive whiteboards known as "Promethean Boards". The Document Cameras allow teachers and students to project documents to a wall surface so that students can view the material as the teacher works through their lesson.
The Promethean Boards represent cutting-edge technology. The teachers are able to display such items as lesson plans, videos, on-line web content, reference documents and presentations onto an "interactive" whiteboard. With a stylus specifically designed for the Promethean Board, the teacher or student can edit projected learning media on the board.
This technology will be on display and being used in demonstrations at our Open House on November 1st from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
