Claire Breiholz was raised in Park City, Utah, and she graduated from Park City High School in 2016. In high school, Claire ran cross country and track and received Academic Allstate for both sports. Claire attended the University of Portland and earned her Bachelor of Science with majors in Secondary Education and English in May of 2020; she graduated cum laude. At the University of Portland, Claire spent her time as a writing tutor and first-year seminar instructor. She also co- authored a research paper on peer-to-peer surveillance in the 21st century with a faculty member. In addition, Claire was awarded the School of Education’s highest honor, the Dean’s Award, for her academic work, leadership, and professional dispositions.
As a teacher, Claire’s goal is to expose students to diverse literature and perspectives. Her classes are student-centered with a focus on peer teaching and group work. Claire hopes to prepare her students for higher level English courses while also inspiring a love for words the literature they comprise.
Outside of Seton Catholic, Claire can be found exploring the Oregon Coast, Mount Hood, and the Pacific Northwest’s beautiful scenery. Claire also loves to read and try new coffee shops in the Portland area.
