Kendra Brislawn

Kendra grew up in Vancouver, WA. She attended Our Lady of Lourdes School for K-8, and attended Seton Catholic High School (Class of 2019). When she was graduating from Seton, her hope was to be able to come back and teach at the school that formed her in so many ways. She feels blessed to have her hopes come true, and couldn’t be more excited to be teaching at Seton.

She graduated from Gonzaga University (23’) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, and a minor in Psychology. She has always been passionate about teaching music, and has been involved in music ministry at OLL since she was young. Kendra is also excited to be teaching Spanish: her mom, Suyapa, is from Honduras and Kendra hopes to share some of that culture with her students. In college, she began teaching piano lessons and looks forward to doing so in Vancouver as well. Kendra also worked as a Music Director for a children’s theater in Spokane while in school, and that was a big highlight of her time and skills there. She volunteered with tutoring and service programs through GU in hopes to improve her teaching skills outside of the music room. She is grateful for all of the opportunities she had professionally, musically, and socially at Gonzaga (Go Zags!).

Kendra is dedicated to teaching the whole person: academically, socially, and emotionally. She believes that every student walks in the door with a different story, informing every student‘s different learning needs. She is excited to be able to teach at a school that supports the teaching of “cura personalis” or “care for the whole person”.

During her free time, Kendra likes to cook, bake, cross-stitch, listen to her record collection, and hang out with her dog, Maple.
