Coach Kos

Coach Kos played college softball at the University of Utah.  In her sophomore year she sustained a back injury.  Following two spinal fusions she realized retirement was necessary.  After graduation from the U, coach Kos joined the coaching staff and was an assistant coach for two seasons.  Following her time in Salt Lake City she returned to the Pacific Northwest and took on the job of Head Softball at Concordia University in Portland.  Inheriting a program that had gone 6-27, After the first season Concordia went 22-23.  By the third season Concordia made their first trip to the regional tournament.  

In 2008 Coach Kos became the Assistant Athletic Director of Student Welfare and Development.  She soon chose to get her master’s in counseling to be able to support the athletes that were so willing to go to the on-campus counselor.  After leaving coaching, Coach Kos went into private practice and gained her mental Health counselor license in Washington and Idaho.  She has worked in schools, with college and pro athletes and has a specialization in chronic pain and illness and children with mentally ill parents. Coach Kos is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Sand Tray Therapy.   Coach Kos started TCA as the need for mental health for athletes grew across the country.  She wanted a space where athletes could
communicate with counselors and each other to gain knowledge and support to help combat the
extreme stressors of athletics. 


Coach Kos is married to Justin Farrell, also a counselor.  She has three children, Sarah, Grace, and Alex.  She has three dogs Spencer, Carmen, and Delta that she spends way too much time with.  She is still a huge college softball fan.  Loves traveling and visiting zoos and has a small Lego addiction.
