I want to inspire students just as I have been inspired throughout my life. God's path for me has always had some major detours and speed bumps but lead me to where I needed to be, when I needed to be there. In 2011, I was accepted into the Sign Language Interpreter program at Portland Community college and was on my way to my dream. I learned that an interpreter was so much more than talking with deaf folks. An interpreter is a facilitator of communication between hearing and deaf. I wanted to be more involved than an interpreter should be.

When God gave me an opportunity to work for one of my best friends doing incredible community work, I jumped to the chance. I am a job coach for folks with developmental diversity and even have a Deaf client.

In my personal life, I am a devoted wife to my CODA (Child of Deaf Adult) husband and still can't believe that I am a CODA in-law. My husband, Jon, and I have a blended family with 5 beautiful children. 4 of them adults, living their own lives, and the baby is starting her freshman year at Battleground High School.

Last year, God presented me with another incredible opportunity. To share my love of ASL with others. To teach this beautiful language to another generation. To inspire another generation to love this language as much as I do, and to join the Seton Catholic Family!
