Ways to Give

Annual Fund

The Seton Catholic Annual Fund directly supports the highest priorities of the school and strengthen our mission to keep Seton Catholic affordable and accessible to all families who desire a Catholic education for their child. Unrestricted gifts support the greatest needs of the school, in addition to the following areas: academics and technology, athletics and activities, scholarships and financial aid, faith and service and the performing arts.

Seton Catholic is a recognized 501(c)(3) with a Tax ID # of 91-2083459 for charitable gifts

Capital Gifts

Capital Gifts are gifts specifically restricted (by the donor) for capital needs that include endowment funds as well as funds for the new facility.

Endowment

Establishing a named scholarship or program endowment at Seton Catholic Prep begins with a gift or pledge (paid over five years) of $25,000. Donors can fund an endowment alone, with family, or with classmates. They can also be funded through a donor-advised fund, stock gift, foundation grant or an estate gift. For more information on establishing a named endowment to benefit the students, faculty, and staff at Seton Catholic Prep into perpetuity, please contact Craig Schaefer, Development Director, 360-258-1932 ext. 225 or [email protected]

Gifts-In-Kind

We are pleased to receive gifts of goods or services that may provide budgetary savings to the school or fulfill a particular departmental need. Document your donation via an In-Kind Donation form to remit to the Seton Development Office. We recommend you consult your tax advisor to explore the tax benefits specific to such a gift.

Gifts of Stock/Annuities

If you would like to make a gift of stock, our transfer instructions include all of the information needed to get you started. Please inform us of the company name and number of shares being donated for acknowledgment and tracking purposes. If you have any questions, please contact Craig Schaefer, 360-258-1932 ext. 225 or [email protected]

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

Do you have a donor-advised fund (DAF) with a community foundation or financial institution? You can recommend a gift to Seton Catholic through your DAF. Appropriate forms to complete these donations can usually be accessed through your online portal or through your fund advisor. Important Information to include when recommending a gift through your DAF:

Legal Name: Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic High School
Tax ID Number: 91-2083459
Mailing Address:
9000 NE 64th Avenue
Vancouver, WA 98665
Grant Designation: Indicate whether your gift is unrestricted or designated to a specific cause.
Acknowledgement Information: Sometimes, DAF gifts come with no donor information. Request for your name(s) and mailing address to be shared with us because it allows us to properly thank you and acknowledge your generous gift!

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

With an IRA qualified charitable distribution (QCD), also known as an IRA charitable rollover, individuals may make direct charitable distributions of up to $100,000 from their traditional, rollover, or Roth IRAs without including such distributions in their gross income, if they meet the following requirements:

  • A donor must be at least 70 1/2 years of age at the time of the transfer

  • The funds must pass directly from the donor’s IRA custodian to CRJS

This provision applies to: IRAs, Roth IRAs, inactive SEPs, and inactive SIMPLE IRAs. Active SEP, active SIMPLE IRAs, 403(b)s, 401(k)s, and pension plans are not eligible. The gift may satisfy a donor’s IRA required minimum distribution for the year. Since the amount of the direct charitable distribution can be excluded from the donor’s gross income, there is no federal income tax deduction available for such gifts.

Matching Gifts

Many corporations will match philanthropic donations made by their employees. This is a great way to maximize your gift. You could possibly double your gift with a corporate match. Simply send us the appropriate paperwork from your employer’s human resources or personnel department, and your gift to Seton Catholic Prep will be matched according to your company's guidelines.

Planned Giving

You can remember Seton Catholic Prep by leaving a gift in your will or estate plan.  Please contact Craig Schaefer, Development Director, 360-258-1932 ext. 225 or email, [email protected] for more information regarding bequests and planned gifts.

Events

The Celebrate Seton Dinner, Michael Allen Harrison Benefit Concert, and Scholarship Challenge Week are all annual events where the community comes together to celebrate the accomplishments of Seton and its students where the funds raised support the true spirit of Catholic education, with the goal of making it affordable to all qualified students.
