Placement Test

The High School Placement Test is required of all incoming ninth grade applicants to Seton Catholic High School. The High School Placement Test is a tool many Catholic High Schools use for the admissions process.

TEST INFORMATION

The STS High School Placement Exam is a standardized test that evaluates the students in both cognitive and basic skill areas. The cognitive skills tested are verbal and quantitative. The basic skills tested are reading, math, and language. The test is multiple choice and separated into five testing sections.

The test is not pass or fail, it is one of many pieces that are evaluated as part of the application process.

The best way to prepare for the test is to eat a well balanced meal prior to the test and to get a good night’s sleep.

Test scores are mailed to families approximately three weeks after the test date.

Calculators are not allowed during the test.

Scratch paper and number two pencils are required and will be provided for the test.

HSPT Prep Course

Students are not having as much exposure to standardized, scantron testing environments.  Due to this trend, we have seen a need for students to learn about standardized testing procedures and strategies. To help students feel more prepared for the HSPT, we are offering a prep course for students who are registered to take the HSPT at Seton Catholic. You can sign up for the Prep Course via the Parent Portal.
